HCM Data Loader (HDL) is a modern, powerful tool that organizations can use to bulk load data from any source to Oracle HCM Cloud software. The new technology supports both one-time data migration if an organization is, for example, moving from on-premise source system such as PeopleSoft or E-Business Suite applications to a cloud-based environment, as well as incremental load transfer for companies wanting to maintain legacy and cloud applications in a hybrid environment.
Long-time Oracle users who started on the HCM Cloud prior to version 9, however, will first have to migrate from the previous File-Based data Loader (FBL) data transfer tool before they can begin using HDL.
As is the case with most data integration or migration projects, proper planning for the transition from FBL to HDL can prevent a host of problems with the data and systems in the future.
Emtec recently participated in an Oracle HCM Talk Radio podcast about the transition.
Here are three tips—and how to use them properly—for ensuring a successful FBL to HDL migration.Read More

In addition to integrating Oracle HCM Cloud with ADP to better manage the Affordable Care Act reporting requirements as discussed in a previous post, there are other ways businesses can configure the software to better manage various payroll functions.
Emtec has built specific accelerators designed to extend Oracle’s guidance about local employer tax configurations and how to pay terminated employees. These two configurations, which can be set up quickly in an organization’s Oracle HCM Cloud system, are the most common requests we receive.Read More
Many organizations are seeking a more direct interface between their HCM and payroll systems to get a better handle on managing all their employee data. However, Oracle HCM Cloud toolsets currently does not offer an out of the box integration with ADP's HCM and Payroll systems like GlobalView, Streamline, or Workforce Now.
Working with numerous clients that have this challenge, Emtec developed an accelerator specifically within the Oracle HCM Cloud system that enables organizations to send data to an ADP payroll system. While potential use cases for this type of accelerator are limitless, we’ve worked with numerous clients that had one specific challenge in mind that could benefit from such integration.Read More
Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots have become a broad technology initiative for many organizations.
The emerging platform has unlimited potential for business applications as it can analyze information from various sources to create efficiencies, improve processes and increase revenue—all with limited human intervention.
Chatbots integrate with legacy systems and use natural language processing to create real-time information exchanges with users. According to a study conducted for Oracle last October, 80% of executives at responding organizations indicated they already have or are planning to use chatbots in their sales and marketing initiatives by 2020. *
While some organizations have implemented externally facing chatbots as a new way to interact with customers, the technology can be integrated into HCM and ERP systems to facilitate vast internal business applications as well.Read More

At Emtec, we are seeing a sharp uptick in interest in cloud, mobile and other digital technologies. Human Resources teams, specifically, are looking to modernize their HCM applications and processes to provide an enhanced user experience and better compete for talent.Read More
Cloud coexistence, the strategy of using cloud applications alongside conventional on-premise legacy systems, has been a tactical approach for businesses to successfully embark on their move to the cloud.
A move to the cloud using a coexistence model allows companies to adopt the advantages of the cloud gradually while still maintaining the custom requirements of legacy systems. It truly is the best of both worlds.
